Boy, it’s great to be home with the family. Anna’s in a “big girl bed” as of a couple days ago, and is VERY excited about it. She’s also starting ballet classes a week from tomorrow (well, I guess it’s today now…)
It’s been a pretty amazing experience so far, fatherhood. I keep thinking that it’s the coolest ever, but it keeps getting cooler. We’ve gotten to the point where she’s really vocal about how she’s feeling, what she’s thinking, and how she’s experiencing life. She’s decided that she wants to be a cowgirl for Halloween, and we still haven’t figured out where that one came from. Possibly from her “sister” at day care, or maybe a Backyardigan friend of hers… Whatever the case, it’s just way cool to have her wake up in the morning and tell you about the dream she had, or what she hopes to do today, or try to figure out the best way to say “both” or “instead” in a sentence. She’s big on “I don’t think I want cereal, I think I want a banana instead” kind of sentences lately. She loves to practice her words, and is really communicating extremely well, sometimes to our detriment!
Being a dad rocks, more or less, and I’m way excited to be home. A big “thank you” to everyone that supports us while I’m gone. If you weren’t coming to concerts and buying CDs, I wouldn’t have a whole lot of home to come back to. I still can’t believe what a cool job I have, and how undeserving I am of the amazing life I have. God is good.
